>>MONDAY 16th FEBRUARY CHRIS REEVE INTERVIEW IN THE OBSERVER A very good piece on Chris's fight to walk:
U.K. MEET Sarah Douglas will be appearing at Collectormania in Milton Keynes, England on the holiday weekend 30th April to 3rd May. Seems an ideal opportunity for U.K. fans to join us for a day out in the small city; this is where Superman 4 was shot! No concrete plans yet, but if you're interested then let me know.
>>WEDNESDAY 11th FEBRUARY THE ILYA SALKIND COMPANY The website
is live, and you know what?
Check out the site.
>>TUESDAY 3rd FEBRUARY PERRY WHITE SCENE UNCOVERED Another Superman 2 scene uncovered at capedwonder.com; I never gave it much thought in the great scheme of things but as soon as I saw the still I knew what the shot was! As you know, the ending of Superman 2 is used in Superman 1; but before that decision was made, majority of the ending of the sequel was already filmed. This is the sequence in the script:
526 INT. PERRY WHITE'S BATHROOM - NIGHT PERRY stands in front of his mirror dressed in a robe, ready for bed. He picks up his toothbrush, starts to squeeze some toothpaste onto it. 527 CLOSE ON TOOTHPASTE The toothpaste inches out of the tube, suddenly seems to slow down, almost as if it were being frozen. 528 INT. LOIS' APARTMENT - NIGHT LOIS bangs out her story on the typewriter in rapid staccato, suddenly starts to slow the pace, her finger finally freezing in mid-air, poised over a typewriter key. 529 EXT. WORLD IN SPACE The blue ring around the Earth has grown wider now, swirls in a rapid current like a circular gigantic storm, headed in the reverse direction to the planet's axis. For a moment the Earth seems to stop. Then, almost imperceptibly, it begins to revolve in the opposite direction. 530 INT. PERRY WHITE'S BATHROOM - NIGHT CAMERA CLOSE: on toothbrush: For the first time in recorded history, toothpaste actually goes back into the tube. On paper, the turning back the world sequence in Superman 2 is bad, cheap way to end a film. It seems that good portion of turning back the world was filmed sans special effects. These photos are for continutiy purposes, and thanks to capedwonder.com for putting these up. Hopefully, more Superman 2 stills will be unearthed, hopefully some of the models for the Superman 2 battle. Maybe even shots of Supes bumping into and correcting the tower of pisa? Can't wait
