For slow connections or if you want a copy to play anytime you want:

For optimum results, make sure no other program is loaded.

If the animation and music do not match up:

Right click
Click on quality and choose medium or low. Quality of the animation will drop a little, but the music and frame-rate will be in synch.

Also, I wouldn't run the animation full screen as the film is best shown in its correct aspect ratio.

SUPERMAN THE ANIMATED MOVIE

Words from the animator

Before you click the link, I thought that I would just provide people with some information regarding “Superman: The Animated Movie.” The inspiration for it came from the success of other fan films, most specifically the “Star Dudes” saga from Dude Studios. I always thought the movies were hilarious, and once I got into using Flash I thought I could do the same for “Superman: The Movie.”

My animation test of the Krypton sequence was very well received by the members of the Superman CINEMA Message Board, I decided to set myself and complete the entire film. It actually turned out to be a lot more work than I anticipated, but I loved every minute of it. In fact, the Krypton sequence has remained largely unchanged from the original test.

Just a couple of warnings before you watch:

1) Although my inspiration was the three minute “Star Dudes” snippets, this movie is considerably longer and is divided into two parts. If Dharmesh and I have done it right, you should be taken to the second part automatically. The movie clocks in at just under 14 minutes.

2) Dependent on your connection and computer, you can expect up to a five minute download time for each part. Also dependent on your connection and computer, the film may not play properly. Because in Flash the visuals and the music are not locked together, other than at the start point, some animation may play slower and as a result, the music may run out. Dharmesh and I have tried to stave off this problem, but there may be people who it may still effect. If it doesn’t play properly (you should be able to tell – the animation should not be choppy), you can download the .zip file containing the films to your hard-drive and watch them straight off your own computer. This should solve any playback problems.

3) No storyboards were created for this film since I had the theatrical ‘live-action’ version to go from.

4) You may notice a couple sequences missing from the film (I won’t tell you what they are). They were cut either for timing or the complexity of animating them vs. their importance in a wordless film.

5) Not a warning, but you’ll be happy to note a couple of additions.
I didn’t get a chance to insert it at the beginning of the film, but I wanted everyone to know that:

“This movie is dedicated with love and respect to everyone at Superman CINEMA Discussion.”

Enjoy.

Sincerely,
Seang
