Introduction Everybody who is part of Superman CINEMA works out of love for the film (or indeed film series) that inspired them to erect this permanent tribute to the films of the caped wonder. For example, site editor Dharmesh owes all of his inspiration for this to Richard Donner's original Superman movie, a film that continues to strike a chord and captivate him some sixteen years after the initial viewing. The reason why Dharmesh continues to persist with this site, spend hours a week researching what is already history is out of love for Donner's Superman, and everything that comes with it. However, while I acknowledge its place within cinema history and admire lots of elements within the film, to me Superman The Movie did not get me interested in the Man Of Steel franchise. This may be surprising, but I am also in no way attached to Superman II. Perhaps Superman III holds a place for it's Lester trademarks, but even that isn't the reason why I became interested in the Superman movies. If you know me from the Superman CINEMA message board or have read my articles published here, you'll know immediately that I am a highly opinionated individual and often excessively informative. I have uncommon tastes and the way in which I value things is equally uncommon. With that in mind (and the title of this article), it comes with no surprise that the closest Superman movie to me, the one that developed my interest in the saga is Alexander Salkind's Santa Claus The Movie. Unfortunately, within the last ten years this Christmas epic (and the Santa legend itself) has suffered from the arrival of the Tim Allen comedy, The Santa Clause. Santa Claus The Movie is now commonly mispelt as 'The Santa Claus' 'Santa Clause The Movie' or 'Santa Clause'.
