Make-up? Only two names instantly pop-up in my mind, Stuart Freeborn and Rick Baker. Stuart Freeborn was involved in the majority of the blockbuster films we grew up on during the 70s and 80s.

Rick Baker has probably created one of the most mindblowing make-up ever committed to cellloid - the transformation in An American Werewolf in London. It's quite mind-boggling how realistic this is. Rick wasn't involved with Superman, so Ahem hasn't covered him in this article, but certainly a figure we should acknowledge and show our appreciation for.

Animatronics? Frank OZ is a name you've heard associated with the Muppets and Star Wars. Oz is a legend in my book, very much part of pop culture in the 70s and 80s.

In this article, Ahem brings these and a few other innovators to your attention,  or as we call them - The Super Innovators!
