SCENES 265 - 274: FOX HUNTERS

Superman saves a fox from the hunters in the English countryside.
I'm certain that this was never filmed; there are no stills, and Donner in every interview, states that the film starts in the Daily Planet.
This was never filmed.

SCENE 275 - 276: SUPERMAN RETURNS TO METROPOLIS.

Superman changes into Clark in a Taxi cab. There's no mention of Chris in costume shooting during daylight hours in any media publication. Previously, I said that this wasn't filmed but now I think it was shot, in fact, I'll stick my neck on the line and say it was shot! Superman flying down and changing in the cab will have been an optical shot.
Here's a still from Superman II, which Donner shot in July 1977; this shot appeared in the theatrical cut of 2. The yellow cab is clearly evident. It's entirely possible that we don't actually see Clark slide out of the cab. All we see is a blue blur outside the cab and then cut to the Daily Planet interior.

SCENES 275 - 307: INT. DAILY PLANET
Lois figures out that Clark is Superman.
This was all filmed in early - mid 1977. Remember all interior Daily Planet scenes were shot.
According to Donner, this sequence takes place next day.

Let's go through the sequence with a series of stills.

Here's Jimmy holding the newspaper; notice the front page, it shows the DAM cracked; Remember, Lois didn't die in the original shooting script and Superman didn't turn back time! My theory: Superman turned far enough, so he had time to stop the crack appearing, which engulfs Lois...the earthquake does happen, the original Superman is saving California.
Thanks to Alex S for the image.

Jimmy and Lois discussing the earthquake story.

Jimmy sees Clark and joins him for a chat.

Perry enters

Lois looks and the newspaper photo of Superman and then at Clark, she double takes and realises that both poses are remarkably similar!

This was shot.

SCENES 285 - 302: INT/EXT. DAILY PLANET - PERRY'S OFFICE
Perry White gives Clark and Lois an assignment; pose as newlyweds in Niagara Falls to expose a racket.
Lois looking satisfied drops a few "I know you're Superman" hints. There's some rehearsal footage of this scene in the Superman The Movie DVD documentary.

Perry reading the newspaper

Still one

Still two - Clark now gets the drift

Still three

Perry leaves, Lois bets her life that Clark is Superman

She opens up the window

She prepares to jump

Clark rushes out at super speed

Here is a behind the scene shot of a stuntwoman hitting the awning, which Clark guides her to.

SCENE 307 – 308: INT. DAILY PLANET
Clark looks from down from Perry's window; Lois looks up and realises her mistake.
This was shot.

The sequence where Perry White [talking to Jimmy] slides on the bananas and falls into the delivery men was never filmed.

SCENE 307 AND 308: INT. HOUSTON CONTROL
There's no concrete evidence that this was shot but maybe there's a clue in the first film, which possibly indicates that a set may have doubled as Houston Control. The missile control set could have easily doubled as the NASA Mission Control interior. Lester shot this in 1979 with some dialogue changes. They used part of the Daily Planet set and matte painted the ceiling.
Unsure

SCENE 355 AND 370: EXT. NIAGARA FALLS
*** The exterior Niagara Falls scenes were scheduled for July 1977 after New York but they never managed it because they were over schedule.
Check this image. The still is from Swap Shop, a kids show from back then. Chris Reeve was the guest on this particular show. Someone sent in a photo of the Niagara shoot. Notice the different coloured attire worn by Margot. Here's a close-up, which compares the two types of attire worn. On the right is what ended up in the film and on the left she's clearly wearing white!.

A source, who was involved in the shoot for a short period of time came forward and told us that they never made it to Niagara because they ran out of money.
NOT filmed.

SCENES 324 - 326: INT. NIAGARA FALLS - BUNGALOW
Clark and Lois in their rented bungalow; posing as newlyweds. Similar to what Lester shot.
NOT filmed.

SCENES 350 – 352: INT. FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE - LEX LISTENING TO JOR-EL
Unsure if the Jor-El hologram effects were completed. Audio Looping (supervised by Donner) and filming for the sequence was completed.
Filming completed.

SCENE 376: INT. NIAGARA FALLS - BUNGALOW
Lois shoots a blank bullet at Clark; in doing so, Clark is forced to reveal who he really is. On the DVD, they're using the screentest.
Here is a photo of Reeve in histux for the screentest
NOT filmed.

SCENES 379– 385: SUPERMAN HITS THE TOWER OF PISA
Superman, is in his own world, like a lovestruck teenager; he straightens the Tower of Pisa by accident. I don't think this was shot but the model shot in Superman III looks like it was shot in 1977! Maybe the model was shot then. This idea was slightly modified in Superman 3.
Unsure

SCENES 386 – 388: INT. FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE SUPERMAN AND LOIS MAKES soufflé:
This sequence was reshot by Richard Lester but cut out of the theatrical versions; restored in the TV cuts. No idea if this was shot by Donner, I suspect it was. Remember, all Fortress of Solitude sequences were shot.
I think this was shot.

SCENES 389 - 391: THE VILLAINS ARRIVE IN TEXAS
The Kryptonian villains encounter 2 rangers; this is where they learn of the President; they fly to Washington.
This was never filmed.

SCENES 392 – 394: INT. FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE - SUPERMAN AND LOIS IN LOVE
Superman shows Lois some Krypton footage.
Any sexual references are absent in the script, but that doesn't mean that a tasteful love-making sequence wasn't shot. This sequence was probably improvised. In the script, this sequence seems too short; Mankiewicz must have written additional material.
This was shot.

SCENES 394 - 408: ZOD'S LAW - VILLAINS RULE THE EARTH
Footage of the villains destroying key monuments and Zod's speech in Washington.
Some special effects work was probably initiated and subsequently put on hold. Zod's speech in Washington was probably scheduled to be shot in England.
Not filmed.

SCENES 432 – 455: INT. FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE - SUPERMAN IS NO MORE
In the script, Clark is dressed as Superman, but there's no evidence to suggest that Donner shot the sequence with Reeve in costume. Jor-El pleads with his son not to give-up his powers for the sake of a woman he's in love with. Lois is wearing the top part of the Superman costume. Jor-El audio Looping (supervised by Donner) for the sequence was completed.
This was shot :)

Clark listens to his father

Lois wearing the Superman top.

Clark flys down to the chamber

Lois watches Kal-El exposed to the rays of the Krypton sun 1

Lois watches Kal-El exposed to the rays of the Krypton sun 2
