a)
Jor-El gazes on the revolving center circles while 1st Elder (Trevor Howard)
thanks Jor-El for his masterful handling of the prior incident and explains
the prison on which the three "Rebel Elements" were sent (The
Phantom Zone).
b)
1st Elder lauds Jor-El as one of "Krypton's greatest scientists".
c)
A brief alternate take of Vond-ah's (Maria Schell) introductory line ("It
isn't that I question your data...")
d)
When the Council gathers together in a bunch, 1st Elder warns Jor-El of
the fate he will suffer for his "act of insurrection".

6. PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
a)
On the EXV1 & EXV2
soundtrack of the sequence that introduces Lara (Susannah York), we
hear music that was recorded for, but left out of, the theatrical
print.
b)
A futuristic-type security officer called The Executioner makes his
report to the Council regarding the "energy input to Jor-El's
quarters" which leads the Council to believe Jor-El is carrying
out his "act of insurrection". This leads the Council to
send the officer to hunt and kill Jor-El. --All

c)
The next scene, in which Jor-El makes his final soliloquy to his son,
has a few seconds added to the beginning of the sequence, and we can
hear the music cue for this in its entirety (from "Destruction
Of Krypton") which was shortened for the theatrical print.--EXV1

d)The
next section has some music and about thirty seconds of bits and pieces
of footage restored. It starts out with The Executioner (seen from
his point-of-view) approaching Jor-El's quarters, then we see a few
extra moments of the Council reacting to the earthquake that will
destroy the planet. The next added shot is the death of the Executioner
as a boulder falls on him.--EXV1

e)
On the soundtrack the remainder of the "Destruction Of Krypton"
cue (from the soundtrack CD) can be heard as it would have been used
in the film. This cue ends as the ship breaks through the ceiling.--EXV1

. 7. 1948: THE DESTRUCTION OF KRYPTON

a) After
we see Jor-El and Lara watching the space ship take off, we see another
shot of Kal-El's ship departing Krypton.
b)
Bits and pieces of restored footage of Krypton's destruction can be
seen in numerous places.
c)
More unused music (from "Star Ship Escapes") can be heard
throughout the sequence.
d)
When Krypton explodes, we hear a drum roll and crashing of cymbals
on the soundtrack. This bit, originally meant to underscore the explosion,
wasn't used either the THV or EXV3, but it can be found at the tail
end of the "Superfeats" cue on the soundtrack CD.
- 8. KAL-EL'S JOURNEY TO EARTH
a) As Kal-El's
ship passes through space, the Phantom Zone villains are seen for the
final time. Zod and company beg Kal-El to stop, but the small ship keeps

- 9. 1951--THE KENTS FIND A CHILD
a) When
we first see the Kents, we hear the final note of "The Trip To
Earth" cue as it would have been found in the theatrical print.--all

As Pa Kent looks upon the baby Clark Kent, an additional line of dialogue
is added ("Something very strange about that boy...you saw him
